Memorial Day ~ May 25th, 2009

Sarah, John, Ali and Andy spent the weekend with us and we got up bright and early on Monday morning, packed our lunch and treats and went to Detroit Lake. We rented a boat and were hoping for a good day of fishing.
The weather was beautiful,
the boat ride was exciting,
the scenery was magnificent,
the company was superb,
but the fish were uncooperative.

Ali was a bit disappointed. But Grandpa let her drive the boat.

Andy wasn't too happy with his life jacket but at least he couldn't take his hat off because his arms couldn't move. He had a good nap and was happiest when the boat was going fast.

I'll add a video later.

I'm Back

I'm finally back!

I have had a busy few weeks (well maybe months)
so each night I will try to update one event.

First off --- Ali lost her first tooth. The one next to it will be coming out soon. Don't you just want to kiss that face.
Bubba gives kisses now. He kept giving Grandpa kiss after kiss. It was hard to get a picture of it but you get the idea. He is such a lovey boy.

OSU Lambing Barn

Grandpa had a great idea today so Sarah, Ali, and Andy came down and we went to the lambing barn in Corvallis. Last time we went Ali was almost a year old. Today we saw a baby lamb that was just born. The mama licked it all off and then it tried to get up and walk. It was wobbly and tried several times to stand up but it kept toppling over finally it stood up. They took the baby away to mark it and do whatever they do. The mama bleated the whole time. She was not happy without her baby. It was really cold so we didn't stay long. We drove by our old house in Albany. It looks the same. Ali remembers the yellow room and the orange carpet. (it was really peach not orange) I'm surprised she remembered so much.
We went home and had hot chocolate, it's supposed to snow tonight.

Playing with Ali and Andy

Life has been pretty busy lately. I was called as the Young Women's President and it is taking me a while to get my arms wrapped around that. I usually have 3 to 5 things a week I need to do for YW's. We just hosted a Stake Dance, had a snow trip, a baptism temple trip, New Beginnings and I think that's all the big things for a few weeks. Then there is Mutual, Missionary Correlation, Ward Council, PPI, BYC, Presidency meeting, board meeting, class presidency meetings, visits with the girls and in-actives, etc.

I get to watch Andrew every other Monday when Sarah goes and works at Ali's school. Andy has gotten to know me better and is happy when we get to play. I probably spoil him by holding him too much but I'm the grandma, it's my job. He is such a sweet boy. He loves his sister. And as you can see in the picture, his sister kinda loves him too.

Sarah and John went to dinner and to see "Wicked" so we had an at home date. We watched Horton Hears a Who, ate burritos, played Guess Who and read a great book called "Diary of a Worm" Andy even tried to turn the pages.

We all had a fun night.

Sad Day in Oregon

In memory of our sweet little Mojo
I've posted some pictures I found.
He's been having one problem after another.
He was such a good and sweet dog.
We will really miss him a lot.
Both Dad and I are heart broken.
But all dogs go to heaven right??
I loved that little guy. He was my buddy.

PS - Sorry about the naked picture Ali
